Plasma Programs
There are different programs that Biomat USA offers. Not all of our centers offer the same programs, so please contact the plasma center nearest to you to confirm. With all programs you may donate two times in any seven day period (with at least a complete day between donations) and you are compensated for your time when you donate plasma. Some programs collect plasma that is in more critical demand and so those clients may be compensated at a higher rate than others; contact the closest plasma center to you for more information.

Most clients are grouped under this program as long as they meet all of the necessary donation requirements; no other requirements are needed other than basic plasma donation qualification to donate for this program. |

| Anti-Hepatitis B |
With this program we are collecting plasma from clients who have Hepatitis B antibodies. Hepatitis B antibodies are not naturally occurring and so the successful candidate will have had an immunization of the Hepatitis B vaccine in their lifetime or have been exposed to Hepatitis B and formed antibodies naturally.
It is possible to have been exposed to Hepatitis B without contracting the disease. The more time that has passed since your last Hepatitis B vaccination, the more likely it is that your titers (the amount of Hepatitis B antibodies found in your blood) have decreased. We are looking for individuals with high Hepatitis B titers. |
| Anti-D |
Rho (D) Immune Globulin is an injection given to Rh negative mothers during pregnancy and immediately after in order to prevent thousands of infant deaths each year due to Rh incompatibility. This injection is made from plasma donated by individuals who have the Rh antibody.
Since the Rh immunoglobulin has been given routinely for approximately the last 40 years, the number of people having the Rh antibody needed in order to create the injection is extremely low. A program has been developed and approved by the FDA in which Rh negative individuals are given a series of Rh positive red cell injections resulting in the creation of the Anti-D antibody. This program is called the "de novo" program and has been very successful. Currently our Orange CA donor center recruits for this program. |
| Anti-Tetanus |
If you have received a tetanus vaccine recently please contact your local Biomat USA center for possible enrollment into this program. Tetanus immune globulin is used in the prophylaxis and treatment of tetanus bacterium. This disease sometimes known as lockjaw affects hundreds of individuals yearly. |
